Hello friends........!

I am back after a strange time after I moved south at the end of Feb. It hasn't been difficult being here with Beith, wonderful actually! But it has been odd being away from Scotland - I love the land so much, that's what does it for me, and the people. I have been willing to feel all of that for the opportunity to be where I am now, which is experiencing new lands and friends. Lots of workshops, such as a weekend of Tantra - sensuality/sexuality & the Green man & the Goddess; caving in the Mendips.. and the Druid Camps we attend - much depth & fun, full of music, ritual, storytelling, open fires & open hearts...

Anyway, the journey is good - I hope to see you friends at the upcoming Bi-Con - I will be posting more regular now that broadband is running well here.

keep in touch

Moving On...

I am just back from South Queensferry, a small harbour town of real beauty near Edinburgh. I have share of an art studio there and I have been packing up my materials and paintings there before moving to Somerset with Beith. So far, in the whole process of packing this has been the most difficult part. I really don't want to leave this studio - it isn't making me want to change my mind but it has been a real wrench on my heart today. I had to strip things down and get rid of (or burn) things I just won't be using. There is the sea visible from the studio window and the snowy hills visible in the distance. Behind it is a lovely gorge known locally as "The Fairy Glen" - a wild bowl of land filled with trees and rushing white water...

Here is the view over the water from the village with the Forth Road & Rail Bridges -

In the Summer, the town enacts a bizarre ritual where a local man volunteers to be dressed in a suit all covered in sticky burrs. He is paraded around the town and goes from pub to pub, being filled with whisky....!

Well, another day's work in the process of preparing for the "great leap" south.....

bye for now....

Hey all ...

If you have a look on my profile page there is now a couple of links for my artwork - there is one web-link for some of my old illustrations (some not so typically 'pretty'!); and under 'pictures' you will find the first three pics from an exhibition I helped run recently. Two pieces of my artwork (one is below) and one of the show in whole. I should be putting up more pictures in the future, as there is only three pics in the folder so far!

Sunny in Edinburgh today! I am off to South Queensferry in a wee while, so hope you are all well....

bye for now!

Here I am with my first posting on Live journal... I just went through all of the settings for formatting the way I wanted my page to look. At home now packing up for a big change in my life coming up - moving from Scotland down to Somerset, to move in with Beith - it's a big move for both her and I. Myself, I have always lived in Scotland (Edinburgh), so it will be different, and adventure. I just went along to the Edinburgh Bi-Group for the first time in years and connected with a lovely bunch of people, who I am looking forward to keeping in touch with even though I am off south! Right at this moment I am half-way through watching Bernardo Bertolucci's "The Last Emperor" - each frame is so well framed it could be a photograph in it's own right... going to get back to it now - just wanted to put a first post up....

bye for now!!
